Clyde Beats Hyper Reality 2 Roll Call News

Clyde Beats – Hyper Reality 2 – Players and…

Hyper Reality 2: An English GentlemanA short blog listing all of the personnel who contributed towards Clyde Beats ‘Hyper Reality 2: An English Gentleman’.

When one considers the immense talents who committed to this project, there’s little wonder it’s an album I feel so proud of.

Here are the main players…

Atjazz

The man who inspired me to sing and who taught me how to layer my vocals in the first place. We share very similar musical values and have produced some great tracks together. An accomplished keyboard player, you’ll hear his Rhodes licks in places and his extensive studio engineering skills all across this album.

Peacey

Another long-time friend. We’ve shared the good times and the bad times and these can be heard in our two collaborative works on this album.

Jane Hamilton

This brilliant talent and overall quality person blessed my first album with some very memorable writing and performances. I’m elated to have her on my follow-up album. Her appearances on this LP are some of her best works, in my humble opinion.

Octavio N. Santos

What began as a radio drop for his show back in the day resulted in some stellar horn features across my album, as well as a song he wrote the rap for and spat on, too!

AMALIA

Having followed her Tokyo Dawn career and then experiencing her collaboration with Atjazz, having the opportunity to work with AMALIA was one I jumped at!

OVEOUS

Drawn to my attention through his work with Atjazz, OVEOUS is another artist I feel privileged to have worked with.

Magic Number

Although I’ve known him for many, many years, it wasn’t until COVID hit that we were joined together musically. Ross’ bass playing is ‘OK’, so I thought I’d help the chap out and have him on a track or two on “Hyper Realty 2: An English Gentleman”. He has yet to thank me.

Jakka Blades

Introduced through label mate and long-time friend, Si Tew, I was pleasantly surprised by what rap talent Derby had to offer. Jakka Blades came to a session with his twin brother and they both tore the mic up.

Manny Marko

Jakka’s twin, Manny brought a different energy to the studio and I’m glad to have met these very similar, yet different twin emcees.

DJ Hudson

The Derby energy and the force are strong in this one. Alex is a very familiar Derby face who DJs incredible sets around the city and beyond. When he agreed to perform the cuts on two of my album tunes, I was properly made up.

Jabba Tha Kut

Since we’re talking of ‘the force’ and we’ve spoken of Jakka and Manny, they connected me with Jabba Tha Kut. Jabba delivered two stunning turntable performances on the album.

Other Players

A shout out to Stuart from Subism for turning my album artwork concept into a polished end-product.

And last but not least, quite a few people were involved in the writing of this album who don’t feature directly on it. Those people were the ones who took me on journeys of life, love and all of them, learning. Thank you for the bad times and the good times. All of them made me ‘Better’.

And there we have it! These are the outstanding individuals who form the synergy of Clyde Beats ‘Hyper Reality 2: An English Gentleman’, available through Atjazz Record Company via all leading music sites here: https://orcd.co/arc247ad.

Clyde Beats Top 10 Life Changing Moments Playlist

Greetings, fellow music aficionados!

Today, we embark on a melodious journey through the life of Clyde Beats, the Derby-born maestro now living it up in Shenyang, China.

Clyde Beats has curated a playlist of ten tracks, each penned during pivotal moments in his life, with a little help from his friends.

Let’s delve into the stories behind these tunes and the hilariously heartfelt experiences that inspired them…

1: ‘Serve It Up’

Picture this: Clyde Beats, fresh out of the Midlands, steps into a bustling club in Shenyang, China. Amidst the neon lights and thumping bass, he spots a girl who changes everything. Co-written with the legendary Capitol A, this track captures the electric moment when eyes meet across the dance floor and the night takes an unexpected turn. It’s all about the magic of serendipity and, of course, Clyde’s unparalleled ability to “Serve It Up” on the dance floor.

2: ‘So Much To Give’

They say if you love someone, let them go. Clyde Beats took this to heart after a whirlwind romance that ended in a tearful farewell. This soulful ballad is his ode to love and loss, a reminder that sometimes, the most loving thing you can do is to let go.

3: ‘Hold Me Back’

Rising from the ashes of a bad breakup, Clyde Beats found his inner phoenix. Co-written with Peacey, this song is an anthem of resilience and defiance, proving that nothing—and no one—can hold them back. Both Clyde Beats and Peacey shared similar heartbreaks, and this track became their rallying cry to all the heartbroken souls out there: get up, dust yourself off, and keep dancing.

4: ‘Roll of the Beast’

Taking a serious turn, this track addresses the ongoing persecution of certain Muslim communities in Gaza, Iraq, and Syria. It’s a powerful reminder that music can be a voice for the voiceless, shedding light on injustices that must be confronted.

5: ‘ILVURSND’

Ah, young love! Clyde Beats’ younger girlfriend, far (some say embarrassingly) younger than him, had a unique way of expressing her affection, particularly during intimate moments. This cheeky tune immortalises those sounds of passion, blending humour and romance in a way only Clyde Beats can. It’s a playful nod to an adventurous chapter in his adult life.

6: ‘Where Did I Go Wrong?’

Breakups are never easy, and this track dives deep into the sorrow and self-reflection that follows. It’s Clyde’s way of asking the age-old question, “Where did it all go wrong?” with a melody that tugs at the heartstrings.

7: ‘See Your True Self’

This sensual song invites listeners to look beyond the surface. Inspired by a particularly intimate moment, it’s all about vulnerability and seeing each other’s true selves, warts and all, during those special times.

8: ‘Too Blind 2 See’

Another breakup song highlights the moments of clarity that often come too late. Clyde’s raw emotion and introspection make this track a poignant reminder of love lost and lessons learned.

9: ‘Better’

Written during the aftermath of another relationship’s end (well, the same one as their previous collab with Peacey, actually. They humorously dubbed the initial draft of their track ‘Bitter’), this song is about emerging stronger and better. Co-written with Peacey, it’s Clyde’s personal mantra, a testament to the power of moving forward and self-improvement.

10: ‘Come Clean’

The final track addresses mental health, capturing the turmoil of a mental breakdown. Clyde’s honest lyrics and haunting melody shine a light on the importance of seeking help and the courage it takes to come clean about one’s struggles.

And there you have it—a playlist that encapsulates Clyde Beats’ life, from the vibrant streets of Derby to the dynamic pulse of Shenyang. Each track is a chapter in his story, filled with love, loss, resilience, and a dash of cheeky humour.

Hyper Reality 2: An English Gentleman – The Eccentric…

Hyper Reality 2: An English GentlemanThis short story illustrates the journey Clye Beats took in order to arrive at the release of his second album: Hyper Reality 2: An English Gentleman.

It all started on a foggy Tuesday morning in Shenyang. Clyde Beats, the avant-garde musician known for his eccentric style and penchant for coffee, decided it was time to create his next album, “Hyper Reality 2: An English Gentleman.” As he stared into his cup of espresso, he knew it had to be an extraordinary blend of traditional English charm and his unique, futuristic sound. And so, with a coffee mug in one hand and a synthesizer in the other, the journey began.

Step one: Find inspiration. Originally hailing from Derby, Clyde Beats wandered through the bustling streets of Shenyang, donning a monocle and a top hat, because, of course, one must look the part when creating an album about English gentlemen. He found himself at a local museum, staring at a display of ancient Chinese artefacts. “This is it!” he exclaimed, startling an elderly lady examining a Ming vase. “The perfect blend of history and modernity!”

Returning to his studio, which was a quirky blend of Victorian elegance and sci-fi chic, Clyde set to work. His first track, “See Your True Self,” began with the sound of a coffee maker gurgling, followed by his signature Wonk Beat—an unquantised sound that made you want to waltz and breakdance simultaneously. “Absolutely smashing!” Clyde declared, sipping his now-cold coffee.

To get the authentic sound of an English gentleman’s day, Clyde decided to record in the most British locations he could think of. He sneaked into the British Consulate and recorded the echoes of diplomats debating. “Nothing says British like a good argument,” he mused. He also visited a clock tower in Shenyang that reminded him of Big Ben, capturing the chimes to use as the bassline for his track “ILVURSND.” This track, a heartfelt ode to his girlfriend living in the UK who was from overseas, captured the essence of their unique relationship. She referred to him as an English Gentleman in front of her friends, but he was anything but that with her.

As the album progressed, Clyde Beats experimented with more unusual sounds. He recorded the gentle rustling of pages from a Sherlock Holmes novel and mixed it with the roar of a futuristic hovercar engine. The track “DarkWorld” was born, a soulful blend of mystery and technology.

The pièce de résistance was the track “Gentleman’s Gambit,” featuring a guest appearance by none other than Sir Reginald Featherbottom, a local actor who specialized in playing pompous British aristocrats. Sir Reginald’s dramatic readings of etiquette rules, set to a funky beat, added a touch of class and humor.

After months of coffee, top hats, and near-arrests, “Hyper Reality 2: An English Gentleman” was complete. Clyde Beats knew he had created something truly unique, an album that was both a love letter to England and a futuristic masterpiece. As he poured himself a celebratory cup of coffee, he couldn’t help but chuckle. Creating an album was hard work, but being an English gentleman with a flair for the futuristic? Absolutely smashing!

Peacey - Play It By Ear News

Peacey – Play It By Ear

Music is like buses to me in 2024. In a very positive way, not like being expensive, late and full of unpleasant people. No, quite the opposite: as in when you wait and wait for something, then three things come along at once.

I enjoyed working with Peacey on two tracks that feature on his debut album, Play It By Ear, which is out now through Atjazz Record Company. The album is astoundingly good and is clearly produced by a seasoned music maestro. There are some superb featured artists (along with me, of course), insane programming and production, and the result is a long player that will weather extremely well.
